Home School Resource Program

Mission: To market our curriculum, enrichment, arts, and athletics programs to home school families in South Palm Beach County (Lake Worth to Boca Raton).

History: Saint Joseph's Episcopal School is in its fifty-first year of providing an excellent academic, athletic, and artistic experience for our students and the community. We are able to provide an outstanding educational setting, programs, and materials for our students. We accomplish this with the support of our Board of Trustees, parents, faculty, and the community.

As a result of our successful community outreach efforts, we discovered that we can enhance the home school curriculum currently being used by area home school students (ages Pre-K to 8th grade). Our curriculum, enrichment, arts, and athletic programs are unparalleled, and we invite home school families to enhance their current educational objectives by joining us for some or all of these programs at Saint Joseph's.

Saint Joseph's curriculum and campus is designed to provide an academically stimulating environment that honors individual learning styles and promotes social and emotional intelligence.

Each activity gives students the opportunity to work independently while improving certain skills that are vital to preschool children's development. Some examples include working/kneading clay or model magic, scissor safety, painting, manipulatives, and more.

  • Elementary School - Students are exposed to famous works and styles of art to develop an art vocabulary, while also honing their skills and techniques with a variety of art materials. Creativity and self-expression are encouraged.

  • Middle School - Students express themselves through art while honing their skills and techniques with a variety of art materials. Good craftsmanship, art history, culture, creative expression, and aesthetic perception are covered.

  • Private Music Lessons, Pre-K, JK and Elementary - Students are introduced to concepts that most schools wait until the students are much older, including the basics of reading music, counting rhythms, note identification, choreography, singing, music thereoy, introduction to instruments, performing etiquette, and much more. All piano and singing books that are used are in alignment with the well known, local performing arts schools. All lessons are taught privately through scheduled sessions agreed upon with the parent and teacher.

  • Drama, Middle School - The drama curriculum focuses on performance goals in addition to an annual school play. Specific learning objectives including stage terms, use of props, scene presentation, characterization, poise in body and voice in public speaking, and much more.

ATHLETICS:

Saint Joseph's believes that athletics provides important opportunities to teach students the value of team work, school pride, self-discipline, healthy competition, and time management.
